June Day Sail

The uniform of the day for sailing events on the water is usually standard boating dress, which consists casual attire (shorts and short sleeve shirts are ok, as long as you bring sunscreen, but lightweight long pants and long sleeve shirt are better sun protection). 

Shoes must be closed-toe (like running shoes, deck shoes, or Keene sandals).  No flip-flops or open toed sandals (exposes toes to injury and can be a tripping hazard on deck hardware), and no crocks (too unstable moving up and down decks). 

Participants should always bring sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses with a "Croakie” strap or similar glasses keeper strap, water bottle, and sack lunch.  They should also always have on hand a small notepad and pen or pencil, pocketknife or marlinspike, handkerchief, a small personal first aid kit, plus a whistle on a cord suspended around the neck.
